In 1990, Bonnie Turner and Charles C. Clear III had a large exhibit in the East Concourse Gallery of T.F. Green Airport in Warwick, RI. The show, which lasted 6 months, featured 40 portraits of influential Rhode Islanders, and included politicians, entertainers, journalists, educators, social workers, soldiers, lawyers, sports stars, and other personalities. The 20" x 25½" portraits were created in charcoal and pastel on steel grey acid-free paper, and were hand-drawn mostly from photographs provided by the selected participants.
Now 22 years later, the portraits remain wonderful works of art that captured a big slice of Rhode Island's movers and shakers in 1990.
Following are the 40 portraits that were included in the exhibit. Portraits that are not marked 'SOLD' are for sale - either individually or as a group. Click on each portrait for more information. |
