Wolf Rock Landmark Mural, 6′ x 3′, 2003
Private Residence, Exeter, Rhode Island
by Charles C. Clear III
This Landmark Mural was painted on a 6 foot, flat-faced slab of rock sticking out of the ground in the front yard of a home on Wolf Rock Road in Exeter, RI. The homeowners were thrilled with the mural, as were many others. Once word spread, people from far and wide made a pilgrimage to see and photograph this mural – many believing the street was named after the wolf of Wolf Rock Road. And that is how this small, simple mural on a quiet, woodsy street became a landmark in the sleepy town of Exeter, where it remains to this day.
